Why Fee-Only Financial Planning
Since the firm’s founding more than 30 years ago, we have been committed to fee-only comprehensive financial life planning because we believe it is the most responsible way to help our clients. Running a business that does not act in the best interest of the client is simply not sustainable. We act as your fiduciary, making recommendations based solely on what is best for you and intended to help you meet your goals.
Two things help us stand out among the crowd of financial planning and investment advisory firms.
The first is our fee-only approach.
The second is the comprehensive nature of our financial life plans.
That is why so many individuals and families trust EKS Associates to help them navigate their financial lives.
What is the Benefit of a Fee-Only Financial Planning Firm?
The benefit to working with a fee-only financial planner such as EKS Associates is we are registered investment advisors with a fiduciary responsibility to act in your best interest.
You pay a flat retainer fee or hourly rate in exchange for the advice we provide, and that fee is never contingent on the size of your portfolio. We do not receive compensation from third parties. This independence is why you can feel confident that all recommendations are right for your unique situation and not motivated by commissions.
How EKS Associates is Different from Other Financial Planners
The first thing that differentiates us from many financial planners is our fee-only approach, as described above. We are motivated 100% by our desire to help individuals achieve financial independence. We are never motivated by commissions or the size of your portfolio.
The second thing that makes us stand out from the crowd is our comprehensive approach to creating your financial plan. We evaluate and advise on every aspect of your life that can impact your financial independence, including:
- Financial and non-financial goals
- Retirement planning
- Estate planning
- Tax planning
- Charitable giving strategies
- Insurance needs
- Investment management
- Family wealth planning
- College planning
- Cash management
The third thing clients notice when they hire us is how much time we take to listen. Your fee-only financial life plan is not boilerplate. It is written for you and what you want to achieve in life. We ask questions, listen to your desires and concerns, and ensure that you understand the financial plan and how it can help you achieve financial independence.
